The Urban Area Development Authority (UADA) is a key department under the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, committed to the sustainable development and modernization of urban areas across the province. Our mission is to ensure planned growth, improve infrastructure, and enhance the quality of life for urban residents through effective policies, strategic planning, and efficient service delivery.
Established to address the challenges of rapid urbanization, UADA is responsible for land use planning, housing development, urban infrastructure projects, and the regulation of construction and real estate activities. We work in close collaboration with municipal bodies, development partners, and community stakeholders to implement projects that support inclusive and environmentally responsible urban development.
With a strong focus on transparency, innovation, and citizen-centric governance, UADA strives to create livable, resilient, and economically vibrant cities that meet the present and future needs of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Our Mission
UADA Swat is dedicated to the planning, development, regulation, and management of urban areas in the District Swat, with a specific focus on Kanju Township and its future phases. Our mission is to: Provide well-planned and low-cost housing to meet the growing demand of urban expansion.
Our mission include:
- Reduce pressure on main urban centers by developing and maintaining alternative residential zones like Kanju Township.
- Identify and plan new areas for urban development and future expansion of schemes/phases.
- Promote sustainable urbanization in harmony with Swat’s natural and historical environment.
- Ensure planned growth through strict adherence to zoning laws, land use regulations, and town planning principles.
- Deliver citizen-centric public services, including road networks, sanitation, drainage, green spaces, and street lighting.
- To ensure transparent governance, effective service delivery, and coordination with all relevant stakeholders.
Our Vision
UADA Swat envisages becoming a model institution in urban development—leading the transformation of Swat District into a region of well-planned, inclusive, and sustainable townships that reduce pressure on existing city centers like Mingora and Kabal etc. We aim to provide affordable and legally secure housing through integrated urban planning, while preserving the ecological, cultural, and historical identity of the region. Our vision is grounded in responsible land use, citizen-centered governance, and the equitable distribution of urban resources and opportunities. Through phased development and strategic expansion of Kanju Township and future urban schemes, UADA Swat aspires to create modern, smart, and livable communities—where residents benefit from reliable public infrastructure, modern civic services, and a dignified standard of life.
